From today, the Online Archive of RoEduNet Bucharest is using Simba 0.8.3 (the latest version). The Online Archive of RoEduNet Iasi also has been updated to the latest Simba version.

The Online Archives from Iasi and Bucharest now run Simba 0.6.2

RoEduNet Online Archive has a new mirror: Eclipse, a open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building software.

We are currently working to provided mirrors to the 3 BSD's:

• FreeBSD
• OpenBSD
• NetBSD

on our servers. One of them (openbsd) is already in place on ftp.roedu.net. The other 2 are in progress. We'll make a public announcement when all 3 are ready.

A OpenBSD mirror has been added on RoEduNet Online Archive.

In his commitment to the OpenSource community RoEduNet had expanded the debian-security mirror from RoEduNet Iasi Online Archive and added a OpenBSD mirror on RoEduNet Bucharest Online Archive. If there is something you think worth mirroring please let us known at the usual contacts:

I have some big news today. The new ftp.roedu.net is live and ready to serve. The new machine is a dual xeon with more than 3TB of storage. For the moment only a few mirrors are available because the old machine had only 300G of storage. More mirrors will be added these days. The web interface of the new ftp.roedu.net has been set after ftp.iasi.roedu.net. Now both looks the same and use the same software for syncing mirrors (simba).

The other event is that planet.roedu.net has been moved to a stronger machine and should work better now. If you notice any slowdowns please let me know.
